So you want to know how MASA came to be? Well the name MASA is actually an acronym for MsAuthor's Story Archive, I call the site MASA now because...its easier to type out ^^; MsAuthor would be me, nike13; I called it MsAuthor's because nike13 was taken under the host I was using at the time and my friend kept calling ms. author since I kept writing stories in class instead of paying attention. The point of creating this site was to have a place to call my own for all my stories, somewhere where I had direct control over what and how things looked. This was my second website, the first was a Sailor Moon site but was lost due to server issues, never to return. The site originally was created during the Spring of 2003, the first author to join my site was Killerqueen who has been very supportive over the years. Since the start of the site, and the move to our new server (THANK YOU TWIRP!!!) MASA has grown faster than I dared to dream. I always liked the idea of having my own site, but when I actually got people to visit and people to sign the guestbook I was ecstatic. That's why I write and keep this site up, because I love to get stuff in return for writing, I like having a place to call my own with my little family of fellow authors (yes, over the years, they feel more like a part of my family than online friends), and most of all, I like to read all the stories from them too. You have no idea how fun it is to get the new chapter ahead of everyone and know you're one of the first to read it. My dream has and always will be to be published by a publishing company, but even if that doesn't happen (or if it does) MASA will stay up. Writing is my first love and I shall never abandon her even if I don't manage to update one of my own stories, there will be something added. MASA is first and formost a story archive, and as long as I can still read, there will still be stories here. The best way to sum up the site is this: It began as a dream, but became something greater. Welcome to my dream. |
