Looking through the dashboard on my Tumblr, I saw that someone had posted this about 50 Mac Apps that are recommend. Many I know if I’d buy I wouldn’t use but with Blogo, I’m considering to see if it would force me to blog more. I really do miss it explaining my life to others or the interweb.
However, at 5:20 AM, there’s nothing really worthy to write about. I’ve been doing nothing for the past 4 weeks and although I’ve liked it, it’s gotten to a point that I can’t stand being in this house. I love being in city of Chicago and it’s where I can see myself being happy & self sufficient with that amazing 9-5 job. If I indeed became a copyeditor, I would be a success in my own eyes because I’m doing something that makes me feel like I’m empowering others and being a smart, strong women.
Chicago is probably also the reason I loved reading Audrey Niffengger’s The Time Traveler’s Wife. The novel is centered around the relationship of Henry & Clare and what it means to be in love while examining issues of loss, free will, and romance. Henry has a genetic disorder which causes him to time travel & she’s an artist.
The author grew up in Chicago so as writers do, they write about what they know. She talked about Lake Shore Drive & getting off at the Irving Park exit (where I used to live), the Art Institute, the North side of Chicago, Hyde Park, and the Newberry Library. I wanted to be at those places as the events in the book progressed.
The book, itself, is quite amazing & I’m glad I followed up on hennypotter’s suggestion to read it. It also one of the first books that made me want to cry at the end because of how amazing the ending actually was & that this beautifully written sci-fi love story was coming to an end. Truly recommend it & quite wait to see how the movie lives up.
P.S I can’t wait to hang out in the city Saturday & Monday. I also can’t wait till Kimbereli returns for a Thanksgiving break even though the days to spend with her won’t be many. School work comes first after all.
P.P.S – Hmm, I think I like Blogo.
